Tho Government Ultimatum.

Wellington, thisday*; The Government sent thoir ultimatum to the Cable Company on Saturday. ' The Postmaster-General has given thorn notice that New Zealand will not supply the present accommodation, and will impose, terminal charges if rates aro raisod. If the ordinary rates aro left unchanged, and Press rates reduced to threepence a word on a guarantee of the Press to supply revenue equal to the averago of the last throe years, Sir Julius Vogel offers to give twelve months' notice before undertaking a new cable.
