Can: terbury and Dunertin Jockey Clubs have declared in favour of the former, but thft Island Bay people still persist in urging their claim to precedence. Their spring mooting will tato place at an early dstftj and some uneasiness has been ehown bj horse-owners left in entering for Ihfl events they should incur risk of di«-; qualification. In order to avoid any suclj unpleasantness, the director* of the Island Bay Company have decided to submit thenf programme under protest to the Wellington, Racing Club for approval, so that t(ig diiliculty may bo considered at an end fof the present. Tho directors intimate, how ever, their intention of fully testing the, question of right.
