Cornford gave an interesting iiccount of the liaptist missions in Jamaica and Ule West India Islands, under Knibb and Jturchell, Itev. C. Carter spoke on his missionary experiences in Ceylon, extending over a quarter of a century, and Itev. A. North made an appeal on behalf of the women of India. The meeting was a very interesting one. The Mount Eden Church was received into the Union on the motion of the itev. T. Spurgeon, teeonded by Mr Shalders. It was moved by JMrßell. "That it is desirable that a Theological and Literary Institute be formed in connection with this Onion." The resolution was ultimately altered to read as follows: "That steps be taken at once for the training of young men lor the ministry, and that it be remitted to the committee for immediato action," nnd then carried.

It was resolved thut tno annual conference of the Union be livid in the mouth of November in each year. At twelve o'clock a deputation was received from the Minister's Association of the city, consisting of the Keys. It. F. Mncuicol (Presbyterian), S. Macfarlanc (United Free Methodisll, J. 8. IHII (Anglican), It. Itavin (Wesloyan), and T. Adams (Congregational). All these gentleman delivered addresses expressive of welcome, congratulations on the progress made, and the good work already accomplished, with wishes for the continued blessing of God on the sessions of the .Union now being held in lliis city. After these addresses the President called upon the Itev. C. Cartor (I'aversham) to reply to the speeches of the visiting ministers. Mr Carson (Wanganui) also responded on behalf of the Union. The meeting then adjourned for lunch.
