These was a great bull-fight at Aranjuez yesterday; which was attended by 8,000 citizens of Madrid. The chief attraction waß Lagartijo, the greatest of bu'.l-fighters, who, after the performance, was feted at a great banquet at which 400 of the most distingui.hed citizens sat down. But Lagartijo must now look out for his laurels, as he has a redoubtable rival This rival is a woman named Fragosa. She is a terera of the first rank, and the different cities contend for her presence on great occasions. Her real name is Dolores Sanchez, and she was born in Seville, in the celebrated Ttiana faulong. She is the daughter of poor parents. She entered the service of a modiste as an errand-girl at twelve years of age. But she Eocn developed a liking for sport, and some two years ago she appeared on horseback in the ring as door-openor of the torel, through which the ball plunges into the arena. She was applauded with frantic enthusiasm. Last year she figured in the fights and killed three bulls in one famous ccrida. She then appeared in the ring of Arubel, Alcala aud Guardaira, and brought down hor furious antagonist every time. This year she has also killed several bulla at Cordoba, Jean, Linares and Vallecaa. In the last named place, when she advanced and flung out her mantle, the bull advanced Btealthily and then made a sudden plunge, sending her! flying in the air grievously wounded. She was removed from'the ring, but reappeared a few minutes afterwards and, after several scientific pasees, killed the bull with a splended thrust most artistically delivered. La Fragosa has now some grand engagements for the performances at Cadiz, Grenada, Malaga, Antequera, Übeda, Linarez, Montero, Seville, Barcelona, and Valentia.
