Oamaiu", this day. Tin-, body of a child, apparently three- or four'weeks old, was direovored buried in 11 holo at Iho north part of tho town 'yesterday. The body was in an advanced stago of decomposition, but is fearfully mutilated. Ono of tho-legs was cut oil' by (ho hip. und tho head, arms, and other parts of the body woro cut and backed about. Tho mother of tho child is known, but the police only discovered that something wus wrong tho other day, and to-day found tho body buried in tho garden. An inquest will bo hold to-dny.
