In answor to a telegram asking if the Government can givo passages per Hinemoa to a hundred men in addition to the Southland prospecting party, the Mayor, as Chairman of the Association, received the following from tho Minister of Mines :— "Tho Hinemoa can take up 250 prospectors, They will have to bring their own bedding. If any magnanimous individuals desire to send a few sheep with the party, tbe steamer can take them, also three or four pack horses if necessary. lam sending a qualified surveyor with the party, who will lay oil' tracks inland from tbe coast, so that road-making may proceed concurrently with prospecting. The one will help the other.—W. J. M. Larnaoh." TheHiaenoa sails from the Bluff on the 13th inst.
