Reuter cables that J. Abraham's Tilda (list 4lb) has been scratched for the Melbourne Cup. At a meeting of the stewards of the Dunedin Jockey Club last night, correspondence from the Victoria Racing Club was read, which left no doubt in tho minds of the stewards that tho horse which, aa Warepa, won the Hurdle Race .it tho Midwinter Meeting, was really Problem, the winner of the Selling Race at the V.R C. Grand National The handwriting of the signature " P. F. Gordon " to the sale note was striking similar to the letters in the club's possession, admittedly written by F. G. Parkes. A meeting is to bo held to consider whether two of the witnesses called by Parkes shall bo warned olf the course at future meetings.
A meeting of the directors of the Plumpton Park Coursing Club took place yesterday afternoon to consider the protest npainßt Taipo, the winner of tho Sapling Stakes at the recent meeting. After hearing the evidence, it was agreed to disqualify the dog on the grounds that the podigree was not given at the time of entry ; and it was furthor resolved that the stake be divided among the four dogs that Taipo put out.
