OUR GOLDFIELDS
Thames, this day,
Cambria.—The south crosscut ia in a distance of 4") ft, and ia penetrating a splendid channel of country, being white sandstone of a very favourable nature for gold. Colours of gold are occasionally seen in the quartz coming to hand from the various atopes in the Dnrwin section of the mine. The western drive at No. 2 level is in 275 ft from the crosscut, and a little gold ie seen in the reef.
PRISOE Imperial.— The manager is continuing the croeECut to cut the new leader, but it ie juat probable that it has dropped into the large body of quartz 35ft thick which wti.q recently passed through. It > 3 the intention of tho manager, however, to extend the crosscut another 15 feet, in order to ascertain whether such is the case, and should tho leader not then be met with, driving will bo commenced on tho hanging-wall of tho large reef.
Repairs to tho county water main woro completed lato last night, and tho wholo of the battories have now resumed crushing operations.
