VVell'nuton, this day. The Customs returns for tho month show a"preat falling off. The receipts at tho principal ports were as follows :—Auckland, £21,161 ; Wellington, £20,687 ; Cbristchurcb, £18,501 ; Dunedin, £27,573. Total for the colony, £105,641 ; against £121,026, for August last, year. Eftimated monthly average, £117 500 The boor duly receipts are : Auckland, £Biis ; Wellington, £344 ; Chrietchurch, £632; Dunedin, £680. Total for the month, £3,466 ; against £3,758. for August, 1885. The estimated monthly average is £-1,584.
