It waa at the counter of a leading shop, amid a universal rush of oriental lace, when the attendant inquired of a Hiborianeeque shopper: "Do you want it for a wash dress." " A wash dress, indade!" said the. woman, teasing her head, " and would I be doin' my washin' in a dress trimmed with ' aycroo ' lace 1 Shure, it's for my Sunday drees, and I want it half a yard wide, rightaway."
