"Les Cloches de Corneville" at the Opera House To-night.
Thk Auckland Amateur Opora Club, who opon to-night a soason of " Los Cloches de Cornovillo" at Abbott's Opora House, aro certain to havo a largo and sympathetic audionco. The labour and attention bestowod u|.on tho preparation of the opora have been very great, and tbo high state of perfection to which tho performers have attained is a guarantee of a vory successful prosontation of this pretty and popular opera. Tho plot is too well known to require recapitulation. Tho various parts will be taken as follows :—Sorpolotto, Mrs Cooper; Germaine, Miss Holroyde; Morquio, Mr P. Dufaur ; Boy, Mr Y. E. llomah ; Urenicheux, Mr J. Edwards; Gaepard, Mr A. Taylor ; Bailie, Mr H. Walpole, Gobo, Mr E. P. Hudson; Nanette, Mrs Waters; Gortrudo, Miss G. Blandford : Joanne, Miss Jervis ; Susanne, Miss Roevo. The post of conductor will be rilled by Herr Carl Schmitt, Mr F. Earl will act as stage managor, and the scenory and effects will be under the direction of Messrs W. VV. Robinson and Keith Wilson. From tho number of seats bookod the Opera House will assuredly present a gay and animated scone to-night.
