LATER.
Two Hundred Mon Fighting the Fire. Normanby, this day. An increased wind has raised the flames, but as yet no houses have been burnt. Probably two hundred men, volunteers from New Plymouth and elsewhere, were employed in keeping back the fire from Midhurst and Inglewood yesterday. The whole country is now on the watch, and care may avert a serious disaster, but no security can be arrived at until rain falls.
Many cattle, the property of McCrae, Nolan, and others, have been burnt.
