Wellington, this day. The Artillery Band arrived here at 3 p.m. yestorday,aftoi' a very rough passage on tho Stormbird. Moro than half tho "boys" were ill, but tho band played up tho street to tho Melbourne Hotol, where tlioy aro staying. Thoy will bo all right in timo for the contost, and are quite confident of giving a good account of thouiselves. Tho members of tho band wcro shown into the House by Mr Hurst, M.H.R. Tluy havo been shown great kindness by soveral other friohds, including 'Mr Bloxsome, By roqueet of the Govornor, tho band will probably play on hiß lawn on Monday next, and at tho Baein Reserve on Sunday. .
Tho band is to give tho Auckland mem bora a special performance cfc Parliament House after the contost at 11 p.m._to-morr;w evening. Sir George Grey has given C 5 to tho band, and Mr Mitchelsou £2, which is included in tho £33 collocted by Mr Dargavillo.
