POISONING CASE.
Btrango Affair at tho Clarendon.
RuMor/RB were afloat yesterday respecting a poisoning case at the Clarendon Hotel, but the matter was kept very quiot. The particulars of the affair, so far as wo have been able to learn, are as follow i—On Sunday night a girl named Geary, employed as assistant waitress at tho hotel, was found in her room in astupified condition. There was reason to believe that she was suffering • from the offects of poison, and an omotio was administered, with the result that the firl was out of danger several hours later, t has since transpired that she bad taken tincture of chloroform, but whether intentionally or otherwise we are not ablo to say. The girl has since left tho hotel. She has appeared to be despondent and peculiar in her manner lately, and is believed to bo in trouble. No particulars of tho occurrenco weie furnished to the police.
