A great scare was lately caused in Melbourne by a report that a tiger escaped at Mansfield from a menagerie some time ago, and has been in that and the Wangaratta districts ever since. Mysterious disappearances of sheep and other animals are put down to the tiger. The members cf the rifle corps and the police have gone out to hunt for the animal,
