The father of the-•> girl communicated with Sergeait Gillies en Sunday, and the police are 'Making strenuous efforts to arrest the offender. Ho is described as a man sft Sin high, of fair complexion, sandy bushy whiskers, light moustache, and wore at the Sine faded dark clothes. He also carried*, watch. Later, Constable McKnight has wlred.tp Super*.., intendent Thomson that he ljad iirested a man on suspicion, and had taken.hfajfl Morcer, where ho was identified. _.
