SOCIAL MEETING AT HAMILTON.
A social mooting of tho members of the
Prcsbylorian Band of Hopo and temperance friends of Hamilton was held in tho Presbyterian Church on Friday ovoning last to bid good-bye to tho Roy. Wm. Raoburn. Tho different churches were woll represented, and expressed their doepregretat Mr Raoburn leaving tho district, and wishod him Hod speed in his now sphere of labour. A duet was sung by Mrs Cochrane and Mrs Mc Lemon with tino effect. A solo was sung by Miss Strange, of Waitoa, who possesses a rich, mollow voice. The chief feature of tho ovoning, however, was tho presentation to Mr Raoburn of an illuminated address and a magnincontly-bound volumo of "Church Praise" by his many friends, as a small tokon of tho osteem in which ho is hold by thorn. Hymn 111 (Sankoy's) was thon sung very i'colingly, being most appropriate to the occasion. Tho bonodiction was pronounced, and closed a very profitable mooting.
