Onehunga Naval Artillery. A meeting of the members of the Onehunga Naval Artillery Corps was held in the Church of England School-room last evening for the election of officers and otlur business in connection with tho company. Mr J. Lundon was voted to the chair. Tho Secretary, Mr J. Brown, read the correspondence. The roll was called over, and upwards of 70 members nnßweied to their names. The Chairman remarked that before the eloction of officers took place, he would like to give them a little advice. He considered that it would be wise if a committee waa appointed for the purpose of recommending a suitable person to command the company. A person with money would, in his opinion, be the moat suitable to fill tho offico of Captain. Mr Huleo begged to differ with tho Chairman on that point ; he contended that officers ,vith money and without brains would be simply nothing more than ornamental dummies. He remarked that lie had fourteen yeara'experience in the British Navy, nnd it was obvious that the men ailmired ability and experience most. The whole of tho members present endorsed these views enthusiastically by electing Mr Eugene Hulso captain of the Company. After a desulting conversation the election of officers waa proceeded with:—Messtn E. Hulse, captain, G. James, first lieutenant; and J.
