TELEGRAMS.
Thames, this day —A firo occurred early this morning in a dwelling at block 27, owned and unoccupied by A. F, Puckey. It was, however, extinguised after the kitchen had been destroyed. The damages are estimated at about £00. The building was uninsured.
Mbecer, this day.—This morning Mr Fallon took several gangs of men in barges and canoes from Mercer to Miranda coal mines to commence the work of constructing the canal which will"connect the Company's new shaft with the main creek. The biggest bag made at duck-shooting this year was by Messrs Hunter and Bell, who had Mr Seabourne's boat for ono day, and obtained 40 brace of birds
