Ear. Dufferin has arrived hero, and holds a durbar to-day. Tho Rawiil Pindi cetemony was of a splendid character, and waß largely attended by influential native princes. Tho Ameer of Afghanistan made a speech, in which ho expressed his grntitudo to the Queen for favours, and stated that tho Afghans would join firmly with tho British in resisting any oxtcrnal onemios.

London, April 8. It is reported that Lord Rosobery suggosts the mediation of Princo Bismarck botween Russia and England in regard to the settlement of tho Afghan difficulty. Tho "Standard " considers that tho position of affairs is vory critical.
