SOUTHERN CRIMINAL SESSIONS.

Wellington, this day. The Supreme Court Criminal Sessions commenced this morning before the chief Justice. There was no charge to the Grand Jury, His Honor remarking that tho 14-casos were very simple, and involved no difficulty.

The criminal session of the Supreme Court opened this morning. There are 25 offenders, ono of whom (Robert Day, charged with forging a bill for £1,600) has absconded. Of those who will come up for trial four aro chargod with rape or attempted rape, six with robbery with violence, four with larceny in one form or another, three with arson or aiding arson, two with forgery, two with sheep-stealing, one with libel, one with shooting with intent, and one with inflicting grievous bodily harm.
