WAIUKU BAZAAR.

The bazaar which was held at Waiuku en Tueeday and Wednesday last was most successful.- Mrs King and Mrs Walpole presided at one stall, and were ably assisted by Mrs Wood, Mrs Smith, Misseß Flexman, Bisclioif, Abbott, Baker, and Green. Mrs Bent aud Misses Stone presided at the second, and were assisted by Mrs Haslett, Misses Bent, Selby,'Haslett, and C. Flexman. Tho refreshment stall was under the supervision of Mrs Bischoff and Mrs Hamlin, and they were assisted by Misses Bregmen (2), Hull, Currie, and Hamlin. The bazaar was opened by the Right Rev : Dr. Cowie, Bishop of Auckland, who, with Mrs Cowie, was present during the first day. The gentlemen's Committee consisted of the Rev. Cockayne Frith, Messrs King, Green, and Hamlin. It is needless to say all were indefatigable in their efforts to make the bazaar a success, and when the Treasurer, Mr W. J. King, totalled up the takings from all sources, it amounted to £139 12s 6d.' The ladies and their friends in the provincial district and in England had been busy, for there must have been little short of -100 worth of goods yet to be disposed of. The Rev. C. C. Frith thanked the ladies for their untiring efforts, all contributors for their contributions, and all who had assisted them to realise what they had. The debt on the parsonage is £150. The balance required to wipe it out will soon be made up, and the debt extinguished, much to the gratification of all who have taken part in the erection' of the parsonage and in getting up the bazaar. This work has been undertaken by the district unaided by the Standing Committee of the Diocese, who refused to give the usual assistance. However, the Waiuku people and their friends have erected a fine house, fenced the ground in, and laid it down, and it is now in beautiful grass, and everything ready for our energetic and popular minister, whenever it shall please him to occupy his new home.— (Correspondent.)
