Chbi.stchi/kc'h, this day. A fcoMJiiTTEK meeting of the projectors of the East and West Coast railway Echeme was held yesterday. The cjuealioil 6f routes Was considered, but no definite decision was arrived at. An engineer's report on Arthur's Pass line, in answer to that by Mr Blair, was read. A deputation of members of the Committee waited on the Premier and Minister of Public Works and received from them an assuranco that Government would place every facility in the way of those who desired to carry out the project. Messrs Harper and Harper have been instructed to prepare a preliminary contract, which the proposed company may submit to Government.
