MEETING OF C.B. GENTIL'S CREDITORS.
An adjourned meeting of the creditors of C. Bi Gentil was held this afternoon, creditors representing Llls 14s 4d being present. After the Assignee had explained the position of tho debtor's affairs, and read the sworn statement, a discussion ensued. The furniture being considerably within tho value allowed by law to the bankrupt, thero only remains a few books worth L 2 and some goldminlng shares which had cost L 5, but were now unsaleable, two obsolete telephone instruments, down on the schedule at LlO, also unsaleable, and a book debt of L2, said to be good. In reply to the' Assignee as to the value of these assets, and particularly as regards the telephone instruments, the debtor thought he might induce his friends to advance LlO for the purchase of tho lot on his account, and as this was deemed to be in excess of what they would fetch by forced ealo tho creditors desired tie Asiignee to accept the offer if made.— On the motion of Mr Lees, seconded by Mr Payne, for Broomhall and Company, it was unanimously resolved, " That the creditors present having heard the bankrupt's statement made before the Official Assignee, and having considered his present position and the causes which made Mm file his petition, have no desiro to oppose the bankrupt, but wish him to seek and obtain his final discharge from the Court as early as possible."
