The divorce suit Clist v, Clist and Mans- 1 field was heard before Judge Windeyej oir : Sept. 2. Mr E. Bennett appeared for the ■ petitioner. Neither the respondent nor the"'. co-respondent appeared. The issues to be" tried were adultery in theJßoyal Hotel in -j May and June, ISS2, and at North Shore in November and December of the same year, * Tho co-respondent is Alfred Mansfield,.a;;- ; surveyor. * Henry Richard Clist, the peti-. § tioner, said tliat he was a cook. He was-.1 married to Martha Clist, in Kent, on ?. Soptember 25, 1873., < Her maiden namo was Veale. He came to New Zealand witlr : her in 1874, and they lived together in Auck'i land.. He then took a publichouse in Napier,1 | and hero he first met the co-respondent, who camo to lodge in his hotel. The it petitioner and his wire subsequently re- r'i turned to Auckland, where ho obtained an engagement as cook in the Auckland* ; Club. On July 7th, 1880, when he returned., home, he found that his wife had gone out, ■;> and he discovered a letter from her loft for :: him on the table, stating that she had gone' m to see a sick friend. lie then. ascertained that his wife had taken all her clothes and jewellery away with her. Ho followed them to Sydney,' j and found that they lived together ai^r 1 and Mia Mansfield, lirst in the Royal Hotel,:-. then at North Shore, and latterly fit ; the'':' Bellinger River. His Honor found for the petitioner on all issues, and gave a deem | nisi for tho dissolution of the marriage, the rule to be returnable in six months with costs against the co-respondenfc.jl. ■:
