MR GEORGE AT NEWMARKET.

Mr S. T. Georgo nddrossod tho electors of Puraoll in tho Newmarket Hall last evening. There was a large attendance. Mr McColl occupied tho chair. Mr Goorgo gave a longthy speech, in which ho referred to tho business of last session, and lie then referred to the Thermal Springs Act, which ho said prevented the railway from being made. Natives should be allowed to deal with their own lands under certain restrictions. The Waste Lands Board should bo elective or swept away altogether. Tho national insurance scheme he severely criticised, and the property tax, ho contended, was altogothor objectionable. Ho was strengly in favour of taking railways out of the hands of tho Government and placing them in tho hands of a Board. After a nmnbor of questions had been answorcd, a vote of thanks and confidenco was carried unanimously.
