Drunkenness and VAQRANey.—Seven persons were punished for drunkenne^p; Malcolm McLeod, Joseph Robinson, and Nora Willliams, disorderly conduct, 20s each. Vaobant.—Sophia Burke was charged with creating a disturbance while in a nude state in Chancery Lane, and with having no visiblo lawful means. — Constable McClellan gave evidence as to the conduct ot the girl; she was a very old offender.—Constablo Mitchell gavo ovidonco; she was a bad character, and had been living with a man namod Erank Ring.— Six months.' imprisonment with hard labour. Willie and His Paktnsr.—Mary Ann Derrick, alias Knox, was charged with riotous ooiuluct, and breaking sey.ral panes of glass in the house of William Knox, flsh-curer. flrecman's Bay.—Prisoner pleaded guilty under xtenuatmg circumstances.-Sergt. Whitestated that the woman had been in prison for several weeks, and on returning to Knox she found another Woman there: she wasnaturally excited, and broke tho windows.—His Worship said she must pay the damage, and, as she was not married to Knox, she must not annoy him in fnturc-Mr.'' Dorrick thought-that it was a hard caso, Knox had deceived ahd deserted iier.—Dis-h_fgedo_ payment of dnmige. ' BA LoAfer.—Thomas Knowles. who was in a filthy condition, pleaded guilty to boing'a vagrant without r/ioans, and was sont to prison for one month for his physical' benefit. Jackson's Baby.—Jos. Jackeon wa. charged with failing to contribute towards the support of Mary J. Porterfleld's illegitimate child, of which ho was the putative father.—Remanded. Assault.—Wm. Ol^on was charged on summons wiili assaulting E. J. Hobbß'at tho Wade on the 2Cth ult.—After hearing eyidence, the Bench dismissed the case; no order for costs.
