The s.s. Rowena returned from Mercury Bay this morning. Passengers — Messrs Meiklc, Martin, Purccll. Glldard, Roso, McCabe. Warbrick, McLeod, GaJlar, Crighton, Howard and daughter, Mrs Mciklo, and 10 steerage.
Captain Scott, of tho Rowena, reports that tho schooner Golden Islo and brigantinc Oceqhi were loaded at Mercury Bay when ho left yesterday, and they woro both expected to sail today—the former for Levuka and tho latter for Sydnoy.
The schooner Energy, which arrived hero last evening, made a remarkably fast passage of 1J days, from .roymouth. Captain Francis reports having loft Auckland on tho 22nd June, arrived at Groymouth on tho 2md instant, lsaded and left next day, arriving bore as above. Tho round trip was thus completed in 16 days, the lastoat timo on rcoo_d.
