THE annual races under the auspices of the Henderson's Mill Turf Club took place to-day. The weather being fine, there was an excellent attendance of settlers from the surrounding villages ; and two trains—one leaving at 11 a.m., and the other half-an hour later—conveyed a considerable number of town people to the course.

There are about 1,500 present. The Grand Stand is crowded,and the totalisator worked by Mr Adams is well patronise!. Taipouri came very faat at the finish, and gained second place. Betting : 7 to 4 against Bryan O'Lynn, 6 to 4 against Flageolet. Totalisator, £2 4b.
