Thames, this day.—A cricket match between a team of Auckland visitors and a selected Thames eleven of " Old Identities," was played at Parawai on Saturday, and eventuated in a victory for the city men by one run and four wickets.
Taurakoa, this day.—Enoka Ngaite rangi, a native chief, died during the night. A big tangi is impending. C^J

New Plymouth, this day.—A deputation waited on Mr Maxwell on Saturday re the unfair rate charged on baulk timber. MiMaxwell stated that similar complaints had been made at Napier and other places, and he would favourably recommend that a concession be granted. Captain Anderson, of theßotorua, visited the breakwater on Saturday, and intimated that he would be ready to bring the Union Company's boat alongside at any time. Tho breakwater now extends hut over a thousand feet.
OruNAKE, this day.—The usual monthly assemblage of Parihaka Natives is taking plane to-day. Altogether about 200 visitors present, making a total at Parihaka of about 900. Tha proceedings are of a most orderly character.
