The s.s. Waitaki returned from Great Barrier early on Sunday evening.
The "Waitaki made an excursion to Groat Barrier on Friday evening last with a party of about 50 gontlemen. The trip was a most enjoyable one. The weather boing fine, the beautiful sconery of the Hauraki Gulf appeared to tho best advantage, and splendid sport was obtained both at fishing and rabbit and goat shooting. Tho Waitaki - returned last evening, shortly before nine, after a capital run of 5J hours from the Barrier. The following gentlemen were of thesarty :— Justice Gillies, Wm. Aitken, R. C. Barstow, Percy Smith, A. Saunders, James Russell, Gamble, Joseph Bennett, N. F. Giblin. A. E. Whitaker, F. Earl, Dr. Honeyman, J. B. Rus sell. Captain 11. F. Anderson, Cosgrave, Masefield, Ching.
