Mr A. Maguiro's Tender Accepted,
At ft meeting of tho Boavd of Directors of the New Zealand Insurance Company hold yesterday, tho tenders for the erection of tho Victoria Arcade wore considered. They were as follows :— & s. fl A. Magulre 36,162 8 0 It, Jenkinsoii 36,40610 0 Price and Malcolm 40,293 0 0 J. J. Holland 40,410 0 0 Balldon and Stephenson .. .. 40,550 0 0 It was decided to accept Mr Allan Maguiro's tender. The building i8 to bo erected on Mr Smith's prize design, and the time allowed for tho completion of tho block is eighteen months The concrete foundations for the building have just been completed by Mr Jenkinson.'- They are of a very substantial character. The building when complete will cost £40,000. The land on which it is erected is the property of the City Council, and the rental paid for it by the Insurance Company is £2,810 10s annually. ,
