DEFENDED CASES,

John McDonald v. J. D. Bentley : Claim, 9s, rent and possession of tenemont. —Mr E. Cooper for plaintiff.—After evidence had been taken, judgment was given for tho plaintiff, and the defendant ordered to give up possession in a fortnight.

Patrick Murphy v. Thos. J. North i Claim, £2 10s, rent and possession of tenement.—Mr E. Cooper for plaintiff, Mr Keetley for defendant. — The witnesses' statements having been heard, the case was decided in the plaintiff's favour, and the defendant ordered to yield up possession in a week. John Lamb v. St. John Keyse : .Claim, £9, rent, etc.—Mr S. Hesketh lor the plaintill', and Mr Thos. Cotter for tho defendant. —Tho plaintilf alleged that he had let his store to the defendant for two weeks at £4 a-wcek, in order that he might koep and sort therein a consignment of potatoes, tho condition, however, being attached that the premises should be left in as clean a condition as that in which they were found. This, it was stated, had not been done, and the claim therefore was for two weeks' rent, at £4 per week, and £1 for clearing. Tho dofonco was that tho plaintiff had let I'iis premises for the storage and sorting of 30 tons of potatoes, at the rate of (id per lon, Mr Jakins having been previously charged 4d per ton for a similar use of them. 30s hud been tendered for the fortnight's occupation of tho store, but hud been refused. It was not admitted that the , promises were left in an unclean state.
