A chapter from the secret history of socalled "gift distribution" companies has just been disclosed in the R.M. jCourt in the case of Petersen v. Willis and Pickersgill. Pursuer is an upholsterer, and he sued the defendants, proprietors of the "Mammoth Pantascope," for £l 5 15s, being hirp of two suites of furniture, two tables, a statue, a lamp, &c, with conimission on tho transaction. Two of the suites were worth £5 ss, but one of superior quality was kept for show on the stage, and was worth £10 10s.
