Froposod Visit of a Christchurch Team

to Auckland.

Tt will be seen by an advertisement in another column that a mooting of secretaries of cricket clubs is convenod for to-morrow evening at the United Scrvico Hotel. The business to be brought forward is of a rather important character, relating to the proposed visit of a toam from ono of tho ChristchurcJi cricket clubs. Tho following letter which has been ro ceived by Mr W. W. Robinson on the subject will be submit ted to tho meeting for its consideration :

" Christchuroh, Hth September. 1883. — Win. Robinson Ksq.: Dear sir,—lt is the intention of tho Wanderers Cricket Club to send a team to Auckland about Christmas time, arriving in Auckland about Ist January. lam writing to you to ask if wo should he welcome about then ; wo should like to play three two-days' matches with the three principal cUibs in Auckland. Will you please inform mo of the clubs wo could play, also tho names of tho secretaries of each—that is to say, if you think we could arrange the trip. Wo havo boon in the habit of going to Dnncrltn every year, but think we would like a change, and I think It would be a very jolly trip to Auckland. lam writing early as wo wish to give our men good notice, as most of them are in business hero, and like to know some time before-hand if they want to pet away for throe months |i weeks) or so at Christmas.
