PARNELL BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Tin; Council met at 7.30 last evening. Present—His Worship the Mayor, C'rs. Clarke, ]lood, Winks, MeCabe, Mullins, Brown, and Barber. It wia decided that the. Waterworks By-law shall come into operation on November Ist. It was decided to inform Mr Rayloy that the Council intended as soon ns possible to form the whole footpath in Alpha Road, it waa decided to pay fl 12s Gd to the night-soil contractor for compensation in consequence of the bad state of the roads owing to the drainage works. An application from Edward Stiilwell for his building line was referred to the Streets Committee. It was agreed to pay the drainage contractor ±'350 on account. An oii'er from J. McCallum to lay pipes at foot of Windsor Lane, provided Council found the material, was referred to Works Committee. The question of remedying the nuisance arising from the cesspit in York-street was referred to Cr. Mullins, with power to act, and the same gentleman promise! to bring up a report on the Salis-bury-street cesspits at next meeting. An application from Mr ilcCabe for a baggy crossing in Churton-street was granted on the usual terms. The Foreman of Works was infitruced to carry the 9-inch drain pipe higher up Gibraltar Crescent, and put in another cesspit. Accounts amounting to JMS os 9d were passed. After the transaction of other business of a routine character the Council adjourned.
