W.M. StRAXISIIAX V. TIIE BLACKMORK G.M. Co, : Claim, 1(54 for .salary as mine manager from July to October, 1882.—Mr Earl for the plaintiff, and Mr Jas. Russell for the defendant Co.—The case was heard yesterday, and His Honor now gave judgment for the full amount claimed, with I'll 17s coats.

William Ei.ias v. James and Andruw McLeoiJ: Claim, £100, damages.—Mr Cottor appeared fur the plaintiff, and Mr S. Hesketh for the defendants.—The jurors were : Archibald Fleming, Joseph Fletcher, Henry Flewellyn, and Robert Flood. —The action arises out of the iloatjiio- of logs down a creek at Kaukapakapa, known as the Waitoki, iind the contention was as to whether or not it was a navigable stream. It seeras that the plaintiff owns land on both sides of it, situated respectively in the parishes of Kaukapakapa and l.'ukeatua, and that he had constructed a bridge across it. Ho alleged that the defendants had no right to Hoat logs down the stream, and that in consequence of their having doneso portions of the banks with trees and shrubs had been carried away, likewise the bridge, while they had trespassed upon his land in Older to recover other logs. He therefore claimed £40 for the damage done to the banks, etc., £50 as the value of tlie bridge destroyed, and £10 (or the loss of the use of the bridge.—The defence was a general denial of all these allegations, and it was also affirmed that the creek being a navigable stream, the defendants had a perfect right to make use of it, while the plaintiffs bridge was an obstruction.—The plaintiff was under examination all the morning, and aH there are a large number of witnesses to be examined, the case is likely to last several days
