Whether the one was a greater Minister than the other, and which was the greater, he (the Mayor) was unable to say.

He says Flnnnery may accept tho principal wardership of another gaol, or retire on a compensation. Tho Law's Uncertainty. At the Police Court this morning, Robert Angus was charged with obtaining money by false pretences in giving a cheque on the Union Bank at Balelutha. Hiscounsel urged that there was no branch of that bank at Balelutha, and the information could not be sustained. Mr Watt said the information must bo dismissed on the technical ground, but accused did not leave without a stain on his character.
