ABBOTT'S OPERA HOUSE.

•• Lurlino " Selections.

The success which attended tho locont production of "Lurline" in concert form intlucetl Mr Gordon Gooch to repeat the performance at the Opera House last evening. Thero was a good attendance, the dress circle being full, while the lower parts of the building wero but fairly patronised. A choir comprising thirty voices was in attendance, and gave very satisfactory renderings of the various choruses, the principal soloists being Mrs Gooch, Miss Tapper, Mrs Kilgour, Miss Coster, Messrs Gordon Gooch, H. A. Keesing, Moreton, and J. Hanna. Miss Tapper gave "The Gentle Troubadour " with nice expression and wa3 well received. Mrs Gordon Gooch, Miss Coster, and the Misses Bartley (2) sang tho quartette " Though all .the World" far better than on the previous occasion, and flic production was loudly applauded. Mrs I—l--gour's rendering of the scena, "Sad as My Soul," and " Sweet Spirit, Hear My Prayer," proved most effective and created a regular furore. In response toan emphatic encore the lady had to repeat the aria. Mr Hanna gavo "My First Sweot Homo " very nicely. In addition to the concert, two amusing farces, entitled "To Oblige Benson ". and " Up in tho World," wore performed by several members of the theatrical profession, including Messrs J. J. Welsh,' McGowan, D. Robertson, Foster, and- Maitland, Mrs McGowan, Miss Charpentier, and Miss Reynolds.
