"Leah xihe Forsaken,"

Miss Eloise Juno, an actress who " starred " New Zealand with great success 1 some 15 or 16 years ago, and who has just concluded a prosperous tour of the Australian colonies, opens the Opera House tonight with a good dramatic company, consisting of Miss Nelly Greenlees, Mrs. Lachlan McGowan, Miss Julia Fcatherstone, Miss Louisa Leonard, and Messrs E. B. Kussell, W. MarshaD, W. Whitting, J. J. Welsh, Walter Medus, J. W. Wheeler, B. C. Aspinall, and Lachlan McGowan. A capital scenic artist has been secured in the person of Mr Fred Ashton, while Mr A. Kady will lead the orchestra. The opening piece is " Leah the Foisakcn," a strong emotional drama which has held a conspicuous place on the British stage for very many years, and maintained a daservedly high repute with the playgoing public. It is to be hoped that the season will be successfully inaugurated. >-ucli a lapse of time has now intervened since last we had a season of "the legitimate drama," that Mies Juno's advent should be hailed with pleasure.
