A runaway sailor irom the barque Coromandel was sent to Napior, per hotomabana, on remand. Thecontract between thoParnell Borough Councß and Mr Blewdon for the Parnell waterworks, was signed to-day, and the work will be commenced immediately alter the arrival ol the plant from England. The material has been ordered through 1. tS fc>. Morrin & Company (Limited). Numerous excursions by steamer have been arranged for Boxing Day (Tuesday next). The Wellington leaves for Waiwera. tbe Glenelg for Raws,., the lona for Motutapu, and tho Touglas for Tamaki, each leaving the Queen Btreet Wharf at 10 a.m. The s.B. Boae Casey departs tor Wslwera at 9L30 a.m. Pleasure-seekers wiU therefore have ample choice concerning both steamers and places to be visited.
