iMPKISONHENr FOR DEDT ADOLITION Act.—Applications were mado nndor this Act in Buchanan v. Legge and a»other, and Buehanan v. J. W. Waller, to hare the dofeudanta brought up and examined beforo tbe judge. In each case tbe application was granted.
Bamk of Kew Zealand v. LangBHIDOE—In this matter, which is an action to recover £5Q upon promissory notes, the Attom-y-General applied f-r directions as to sirvice of writ.—lt was directed that, in default of personal service, it could be torved upon any inmate of the defendant's house. Marshall and O'Hehs v. Baylky and ANOrHKS.—This is an action for specific relief relative to the administration of certain tru«t property, and Mr Tyler now moved for brave to amend plea.—The application was dismissed with costs. MASBFIELD V. OLIPBAWT.-ThlS is an action brought to obtain a conveyance of certain property in Cbapel-streot (near the foundry) which the plaintiff alleges he omplnyed the defendant (a solicitor) to purchase for him from tho Key. W. Comrie, but which the defendant avers he bought on his own account. On this occaeion Mr Theo. i ooper moved that the teoond plea should be itruck out, and as tha first one was found to cover the whole gronnd, the second one was considered superfluous, and was thereiorc expunged. WILCOCK V. WILCOCK ANO FORDKR (divorce).—Mr Csleman moved that the pla* and mode of trial shonld be fixod, and that was accordingly Jdone. This concluded tbo busino'S. His Honor sits again ,in Chambers tomorrow, and also on Friday.
