Looking at such a large number of esses reported, the number ot deaths from sur.h causes has been small. Tbe deaths of infants and children have increased, 97 deaths under one year and 5j deaths under five years have taken place, making a total of 152 deaths under five years which is considoiably more than onehalf the total deaths recorded for the year. Old age has contiibuted a large share, there being 45 deaths over 50 jeais and op to 90 years.
