Beresford-street Scholars' Sports.

The scholars nf Mi: Harrison's Beresford street school held their annual sports yos" terday iv tho Domain cricket ground, the Schools Committee Idaving given the lada half a day for the purpose of physical exercise. There was a very large attendance of parents, friends, and general spectators, and much interest was taken in the play of the .boys. Mr Harrison and his staff of teachers were present, also Mr 0. MahoD, drill. master, who acted as starter and referee, The following were the results realised :—

Ist Race. -100 Yards, for Boys over 10 years. J. Muhto, lat; H. McMillan, 2nd; W. Staunton, 3rd

2nd Rack.—loo Yards, for Girls over 12 years. Maggie Kerr, Ist; Amelia Fairweather, 2nd ; Blanche Good, 3rd.

3rd Race.—Quarter-mile, for Boys. T. McCuet, Ist; S. Greßn, 2nd ; T. Blewdsn, 3rd.

4th Race.—Siamaso Race. L,- Nelson, H. McMillan, let; W. Chambers., J. Downs. 2nd.

sth RACE,—I Milo Walking Race. H. Nelson, Ist; L. Pfeumogen, 2nd; •G. Warren, 3rd. Thiß was the rnce of the day, and the style und pace of the boys proved that they had received a thorough training in the art of walking. Tha ■winners were loudly applauded by their comrades,
