Mn,SAM_SL C_oMß_3'S Wat-rview Estate, Bella Vista, Ponsonby, was the scene of an animatod gathering, on Saturday altetnoon, many people having availed themselves of the opportunity afforded by tho running of special 'buses (chartered by Mr Coombes), to' take a gratuitous ttip out there. There was, of course, the futther attraction of the presence of Mr ImDoy'a Band, which had_ been engaged to discourse selections of instru-inen-al music from three till five o'clock. The afternoon was fine, and the radiant sunshine coupled with the spring verdure of vegetation and foliage gavo the scene its happiest aspect, so that one could hardly fail to be impressod by it. The prope.ty is situated on the slope of high land nearly opposite Kauri Point, and it Commands a splendid view of the expansive sheet of water that reaches from Cox's Creek just below it aud Point Chevalier, still f urth. r beyond ou the same side, to Carder's Pottery Works away on tbe other -ljore. Tbosa who know the place hardly need to be a-sured that tbe view is cbatming. It la seen at its Dest, howevßr,in tho evening, when tho sun, in mellowed sffulgenee, is sinking to tbo purple haze of the distant bills, bathing sky aud landscape In golden glory. Tho spot ia sequestered, Is easily a.cea-ible by water, and is approached landw_rd by a well metalled road from town. It has been cut up into .2 good-sizod allotraen-.s, and will be offered to public competition, at G. W. Binney's Mart, oa Thursday next. The land baa been droinc-d and manured, and is plantod with trees of a seron years' growth.
