We have to acknowledge the recolpt of a sample of Dixon's gingor ale per Mr Holni--wood, the local agent. It is a very pleasant effervescent beverage, and is sure to becomo highly popular as a summer drink. -1 has |- a clear amber colour, and is just sweetened sufficiently to gratify tho palate, while the . ginger adds a piquant flavour to it. The publio need hardly be assured that it is not au intoxicant.
The closing lecture of the winter series at the Young Men's Christian Association will bo given this evening by Mr Thomas Spurgcon. and will bo entitled "Left Handed Men." of which, doubtless, the yonng minister will have muoh to cay whioh will be both amusing and Instructive. Mr Spurgeon'a manner of treatment la at present a eecret, or only known to a tew, and possibly those persons who expect a lecture on "left-handed men" In tho ordinary moaning of the term will be agreeably disappointed. The preaober's name, youth, and popuj larlty should mi the hall this evening.
