Mr Kerr, ot the American Novelty Co., left this afternoon for the Thames iv oidcr to introduce his useful Yankee notions to the mining public. He has the knack of engaging attention by bis amusing trick?,' nnil the ability to render himself very popular, so that there is no doubt he will score another "hit."
An impression has got abroad that the car-i of the proposed city tramways will run in one direction only. For instance, should a resident of 1 ower Parnell desire to go by tbe tramway to towu, the route would bo by way of Kyber Pass. Mr W. Totton, manager of the Tramway Company, informs us that the impression is entirely erroneous as in both the Farnell and Ponsonby circuits two separate trains of cars will pass each other every fifteen minutes.
