Fears are entertained for the safety of the Island-tiading schooner Edith, owned by Mr Otto, fruiterer, Auckland, and in charge of Captain Hughes. The Edith left Suva for Eva last December, and was expected to reach Auckland in January, bnthas'not been heard from since. It will be remembered that a severe hurricane was experienced in the vi.initypf Tonga on December 13, and it is just possible that the Edith may have suffered thereby. On the other hand, it is quite possible that Captain Hughes may have accepted a fresh charter at the Islands, and may be now on the way to Auckland. Mi: Otto has written to Fiji for information, nnd is anxiously expecting an answer by the next steamer from thence.
