Supposed Lost/™**™ 11----[BV^ORAPH^i 33 J^LLINGTON, this day. « Stella, which arrived last Tub Stg/ m a cru i 3o to the Southern eve^Juscs and Sounds, reports that Seriifiat Major Nelly and Mr Allan, Returnng OiCcers at Jackson's Bay, left that place about a fortnight ago for Hokitiko, and have not since bean heard of. A search party has been out fonr days without finding any trace of them, Later. Tho Government have not recoived any intelligence of miasing Returning Officer tor Jackson Bay beyond a communication from Mr Giles, chief Returning Officer, llokitika, stating that ho had not received tho returns from Jackson Bay, and asking that the declaration of tho poll bo postponed for a few days.
