Tho .birquentine George Noble has been docked, to undergo a general overhaul. H1.G.M.8. Byane left Apia for Brisbane on April 30th. and H.I G. M.s. Hortha for Japan, via Lime la'ands, on May 2nd.

The repairs to tho brig Syren havo bren completed, and she was hauled into the stream today. The leak is said to have been discovered and stopped, tho vessel being now quite seaworthy.

The Torea and Auiora for Kaipara, and Advance for Auckland, sailed from Lyttelton on June Bth. Tho schooner Saxon ia loading there for Auckland. Arrived on the 9th: Aratapu, from KaiDara: Linda Weber, from Auckland. Cleared: lona, for Kaipara.

The brig Pakeha. particulars of the wreck ot which appeara in our telegraphic columns, was a wooden vessel of 173 t-na gross register. Her dimensions were: length of keel, 91 feet': breadth, 22 feet 8 inche*. aud depth, 11 feet 7 Inches. She waa built at Prince Edward's ißland In 1863, and is now, therefore, 18 veara' old. She was registered at Sydney in 1870, and made her first trip to Auckland. Since then aha has besn trading on tho New Zealand coast, and for the last fow voyage" has been running between Kaipara nnd Dunedin with cargoes of timber. The brig left Kaipara for Dunedin on March 7tb, arriving at that port on the 17th Inst. Lett again for Kaipara, and, after loading, left again for Dunedin on the 24th April. She had probably arrived at Dunedin with the latter carso, and been on her way to Kaipara again, when ehe was overtaken in the gale referred to elsewhere, and wrecked, all hand?, with one exception, being lost.

The barque Fast Lothian arrived from NewCastle (N.8.W.) last ovening, after having experienced a very stormy passage. Sho lef tNe wOMtle on Jnne Ist at i p,m. with a moderate breeze and fine W.S.W. wind. On June 3rd, had westerly wind, variable with a heavy crosssea— split the forotop staysail, and burst others. On June ith.experienced variable weather, with heavy squalls and high wejterly cross sea, causing the ship to labour, and pumps attended to. On June sth to Bth, had moderate and variable winds, with occasional squalls. June 9th, a light wind and variable easterly breezes, attended with lightning and muoh rain ; June 10th, squalls and rain, at 11.30 a.m. passed the Three Klni?B,-and at 7 p.m. were abreast of the North Cane: June Hth. had very heavy squalls, which split tho mainpail, carrying away the f oresheets. and came to anchor at 1 p.m. in Fairway Channel ; June 12th. light winds from tho S.W„ with Cloudy sky, and at 11 am. got under way, and heat up to an anchorage off Auckland wharf at 5.30 pm.

The " Lyttelton Times" of A'ay 30th has the following :— "* Tho EChooner Torea, Captain Grand .left Kaipira on May 26th at 8 a.m., and crossed tho bar i company with the Vision and Rona, for Lyttelton, and Jane Anderson, for Dunedin. Had light N.W. winds down the coast: passed Stephen's Island at 10 a.m. on May 23, and Cape Campbell at midnight, thence light B.E. weather till arrival, on Wednesday night. On May 27, spoko tho Sea Gull, from Manukau, for Dunedin. Captain Grundy comp'aina bitterly about there being no lights, marks or beacons visible, while crossing the Kaipara bar, until tbe danger is passid. The trado to the Kaipara is rapidly Increasing, and, as the bar is a very dangerous one, it should be very thoroughly beaconed. Captain Grundy Is not alone In complaining, a. a'l masters of vessels trading to the same place feel very Btrange'y on the matter, and express Rreat disgust at better provision not 1 eing made to ensure the safety of ve^eels crossing the bar. Captain Grundy reports thero was no trace of tho crew of the James A.Stewart, who were, nt* doubt, lost through there not being proper provision made for tho guidance of vessels entering Kaipara.
